Making Room For Relationships

Last week’s message focused on Making Room for the Mission and why the church is moving to two services—because Jesus gave His church a clear directive known as the Great Commission. This mission flows from God’s heart for relationship, not religious routine. Jesus came to give abundant life, addressing humanity’s deepest problem: separation from God caused by sin. Though sin broke fellowship, God pursued us, bridged the gap through the cross, and continues drawing people to Himself. Christianity is not about rules, but restored relationship—created for fellowship, fractured by sin, and redeemed by Christ.
From this gospel foundation comes the church’s purpose, built around three vital relationships. First is a vital relationship with God, where true life begins—loving God fervently because He first loved us. Second is loving others faithfully, being known, chosen, and connected in meaningful community. Jesus modeled deep investment in a few, and Scripture shows that unity and loving relationships are powerful testimonies to the world. When believers live connected lives, the church grows healthy and outwardly influential, as seen in Acts 2.
The third relationship is living the abundant life fruitfully, where discipleship leads to multiplication. Community provides the context, discipleship the process, and fruitfulness the result. As the church enters a new season with two services, intentional connection becomes essential—people don’t drift into community, they drift into isolation. Through purposeful engagement in services, midweek gatherings, ministries, and future Life Groups, the church makes room for relationship. God is still seeking and saving, and when the church opens its hearts, homes, and lives, people experience belonging, the world takes notice, and God adds to His family.
