Membership FAQs

This FAQ is here to encourage you and help you understand what membership means and why it matters.
What does it mean to be a church member?
Church membership is a joyful step of partnership, not pressure or perfection. It’s choosing to live out your faith alongside others in a gospel-centered and Bible-based church family. Membership means growing together, supporting one another, and sharing in the mission God has given us.
Who can become a member?
Membership is open to anyone who:
• Has placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
• Has been baptized by immersion after salvation
• Has a letter from a church of like faith and practice
You do not need to have everything figured out. A willing heart and a desire to follow Jesus matter most.
What is the process for becoming a member?
Our process is designed to be simple, relational, and encouraging:
1. Start the Conversation – Let the pastor know you’re interested or have questions.
2. Membership Conversation/Class – Learn about our beliefs, mission, and core values in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
3. Share Your Story – Briefly share how God has been working in your life and your experience with salvation and baptism.
4. Church Affirmation – The church family joyfully welcomes you as a member, celebrating what God is doing in your life.
Why is baptism important beforehand?
Baptism is a beautiful and meaningful step of obedience that follows salvation. It’s a public declaration of faith and a way to live by faith in obedience to Christ. Baptism does not save us, but it joyfully shows what Jesus has already done in our hearts.
Do I have to attend a class?
A membership class or meeting is encouraged, not to test you, but to serve you. It helps you understand who we are, what we believe, and how you can find joy in serving Jesus alongside others.
What are members encouraged to do?
Church membership is about participation, not pressure. Members are encouraged to: • Gather regularly for worship
• Grow in Christ through Scripture and prayer
• Build meaningful relationships
• Serve with joy using their God-given gifts
• Support the church through prayer, giving, and faith
Is membership required to attend or be involved?
Not at all. You are welcome here whether or not you become a member. Membership is simply a step for those who feel ready to commit more deeply to this church family.
Why consider membership?
Membership provides spiritual encouragement, loving accountability, and a clear way to live out the Christian life together. It allows us to care for one another well and advance the gospel together.
How long does the process take?
There is no rush. The timeline depends on your situation, questions, and baptism needs. We want this to be a meaningful step, not a pressured one.
Who can I talk to if I want to take the next step or just learn more?
You’re always welcome to speak with Pastor Jesse or a church leader. We would be honored to listen, pray with you, and walk alongside you as you seek what God has for your next step.
