Ep 062: Can You Follow Jesus Without going to Church?
Can you follow Jesus on your own without being part of a church or Christian community? A lot of people feel like they connect with God more personally than they ever have in a church setting. Some even choose to do “church at home” and wonder if that is enough.
In this episode, we talk about where the idea of independent faith comes from and what the Bible actually says about how the Christian life is meant to be lived. We walk through the “one another” commands in Scripture and why they require real, consistent community. We also address the reality that church can be messy, hurtful, and difficult, and look at how the Bible handles conflict between believers, including examples like Euodia and Syntyche.
This conversation challenges the idea that we can follow Jesus in isolation and shows what we miss when we try. At the same time, we paint a picture of what healthy, biblical community can look like and how to pursue it even when it feels uncomfortable or imperfect.
Topics discussed: Christian community, church, doing life together, biblical unity, one another commands, church hurt, following Jesus alone.
