Christmas & You

Christmas reveals God’s grace by confronting the reality of our condition. Scripture is clear that sin separated humanity from God and left us unable to save ourselves. We could not reach up to Him, cleanse ourselves, or bridge the gap caused by sin. From the very first failure in Eden, however, God promised redemption. Christmas exists because heaven refused to abandon broken people—so God came down to us in grace, closing the distance we could never cross on our own.
Christmas also fulfills God’s promises spoken centuries before Christ’s birth. God foretold where the Messiah would be born, how He would be born, and who He would be—both fully human and God’s gracious gift to the world. These prophecies remind us that Jesus’ coming was not an accident or a last-minute solution, but the faithful fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. The child in the manger was the promised Savior, long anticipated and perfectly timed.
Finally, Christmas furthers God’s mission and calls for a response. Jesus was not born to remain a baby but to carry out God’s rescue mission through the cross. Christmas is not the end of the gospel story, but its beginning, inviting every person to receive Christ personally. God came not because we were worthy, but because He is gracious; not to stay in a manger, but to go to a cross. The enduring question of Christmas remains: will you receive God’s Son?
